Fans Point of veiw
In terms of the fans and the way in which a webpage such as myspace being available, means a fan base can be very much strengthend and improved. It provides a way for the fans to feel a connection with there artist and a sense of interaction, through the likes of commenting or 'wall posts'.
By being on a socaial networking site it always gives the artist a sense of regularity and the way in which the are on the same site as the fans shows they are not trying to be superior and want the fans to ' feel the fame.
This allows fans to not feel a sense of neglect but also a way in which they can feel togetherness with there artist, in order to build a real relationship.
The webpage will allow fans to give suggestions on what track to produce next, or even what kind of genre they should look to hit. The artists fans are marjorly important, so keeping in touch with them through a social networking site is crucial.
A site such as myspace, is continously available for interaction between fans and artist. It also allows accessability to there songs around the clock with no real complications. The likes of iTunes not only allows around the clock accessability, but it enables fans to purchase music 24/7, which why sites such as myspace often have links to sites such as iTunes in order to maximise promotion and benefits to the artist.
This was one of the main reasons for myself focusing to promote the artist on a social networking site such as myspace.
Maintaining a style will help fans define the artist and will allow people to know what genre your music is in. The layout and design of the webpage has to link in with the artists theme. We have given our artists a hip-hop style and the webpage which I designed is also hip-hop, this will not confuse the fans at all so there will be no problems.

Album Cover Conventions
Typical conventions that an album cover has includes
- A close up or mid shot of the artist in a provocative and visually enticing pose. Clothing is reflective of the genre for example a hip hop group would have a gangster aesthetic, with a dark colour scheme to reflect the mysterious and anti authority rebel ideologies.
Juxtaposing this would be a pop artist, which would traditional include bright colours to connote the optimistic, good nature of the music.
- Name of the artist on the front, in a font that coincides with the genre, in the case of B Money it may be in graffi or something along them lines. Anything connoteing rebelious behaviour.
- Conventionally the name of the album reflects the overall ideologies of the album and what messages the artist is trying to convey about society, music and the media to their audience.
Artist such as Kid Cudi named his album 'Man On The Moon' to give a sene that hes 'out of this world' perhaps or in just some cases a idea that music to him is his way to get away from the troubles of life. I go into more detail about this in my analysis of the album cover to Eminems 'Recovery'
-Genre and lifestyle demographics can clearly be seen through not only the photography style of the album photography but also what symbols they use to connote ideas.
Album covers are extremely important as even through the sales of CD albums are decreasing, the covers are still being used through downloading websites such as itunes or in some cases the illegal downloading sites and continue to be a important part in marketing a artist and signifying the theme, beliefs and ideas behind a album and the artist.

Filming 3
Today we looked at doing our 3rd filming session with intensions to do a large part of filming, and it went to plan in some cases.
As a group we filmed the entire first verse and it went as planned, although straying from the storyboard only to benefit the video itself.
We filmed every thing we needed for the 1st verse and this has eased our time pressure. We have started to edit in the new footage and it is looking very promising, and as a group our motivation is still at an all time high. We want to use different effects to make it look professional and so far we feel we have accomplished this to the best of our abilities.
We want to use a variety of shots when filming and we have done this so far and will consistently do this throughout the filming to hopefully gain extra marks.

Creating a Album cover

This is my first attempt at creating a album cover. I used my star model Kid Cudi as the model for my attempt/ practice.
I used ROCNATION and the Parental Advisory symbols to make it look realistic.
I felt that the album is a bit plain and could do with more exciting colours.
I believe that the artist should be the dominant feature of the cover as the artist is supposed to be the most important part of the music, staying away from the commercialization to a point where fans can focus on the artist, however this isnot to say promotional techniques such as product affiliation should not be used, as it can in some cases benefit the artists promotion of a album.
You have to keep the customer in mind when creating the cover and making an attractive cover is key for the customer as they will not pick it up unless it is well advertised or attractive.
Editing
Editing our music video was the most challenging part of our music video as many people would find when using a new software for the first time. We took more shots than needed when filming so we had options when editing, also gave us freedome to experiment with angles and cross cuttng with angles/scenes. Keeping to the beat with your edits we found is a very important factor as not doing so will make the video look out of place and have no real flow, effecting not only the video clarity but also the narrative. We have also attempted to keep the lyrics in sync with the actions of the artist, just to add to the effect of the narrative and give it a more thoughtful/professinal feel.
When it come to getting used to software in this case Final Cut Express it takes some dedication and time in learning how use and experiment with the software. As a group we have spent a lot of time on Final Cut so that we were ready to edit our music video to the best of our ability. We have found many useful effects that we have used in our peice however look not to over use effect as this would not show our real skill or potential of what we are able to do on final cut.

Artist Website
I decided to create a website for the Artist that we have made. I have chosen to use MySpace as my form of web page in his case, due toits mass use across the world, its accessbility for fans, and its endless ways to interact with fans.
Doing this will require me to have photos of the artist and a theme for the artists page. We have created a'bad boy' image for our artist yet to give him a sense of fame and status i must bare in mind how i put across the artist in the way i design the website down to minor factors such as colour schemes.
For an artist to gain further recognition from fans, they will need a website or a web page. MySpace, Facebook or any social networking website will be suitable; or perhaps even a whole new site for the artist, this is the case with many worldwide artist however it is clear that these social networks prove to be moe beneficial in terms of promotion of the artist. Many artists use Myspace as you can upload photos, videos and music to share with fans.
